About Liberty Bridge
Liberty Bridge started as a question: what if rural education leaders could understand state legislation as easily as they read the morning news? That question became a project through the Google & GSV Education Innovation Fellowship.
Google GSV Education Innovation Fellowship
The Google & GSV Ed Leader Fellowship brings together senior education leaders from across the country to tackle real problems at the intersection of instruction and technology. Each fellow identifies a "Transformational Opportunity" in their own district and spends a year developing it with support from Google for Education and GSV.
Dr. Gregory Nyen was selected for Cohort 3 (2025-2026) of the fellowship. His transformational opportunity: building an AI-powered legislative intelligence platform for rural education leaders. That project became Liberty Bridge.
The platform is built entirely on Google Cloud and uses Gemini, Document AI, BigQuery, Vertex AI, Cloud Functions, and Eventarc to ingest, classify, and analyze Michigan state bills. The goal is simple: help district leaders stay informed, act quickly, and spend their time on what really matters.
